On July 26, 2025, at the WAIC 2025 International Forum on AI Standardization and Global Cooperation, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) International AI Excellence Centre officially released its list of the Top 10 AI for Sustainable Development Cases.
The joint project between Datacube and MTR Corporation, titled “RailSeek: Empowering Smarter Metro Operations”, was successfully selected as one of the global benchmark applications for AI in sustainable development.
About the Project: RailSeek – A New Engine for Intelligent Metro Operations
RailSeek integrates Generative AI (GenAI) with MTR’s extensive operational data and domain expertise to create an intelligent dialogue system for metro operations and maintenance. It breaks down information silos, enables rapid knowledge retrieval, and supports the digital transformation of railway operations.

Powered by the DeepSeek engine, RailSeek can proactively detect potential operational risks—such as during typhoons and heavy rain—and intelligently recommend optimal response plans. It supports a closed-loop risk management process across pre-warning, in-action response, and post-event review. - Railway AI Doctor: Knowledge Service Platform
By using natural language queries, staff can receive real-time, step-by-step, actionable guidance. This transforms operations from “searching for manuals” to “getting direct answers,” significantly improving efficiency and decision-making on the ground.
This recognition not only demonstrates Datacube’s capabilities in applying AI technologies within the transportation sector, but also underscores the company’s active role in advancing sustainable urban development.
